This steeply-sloping town garden was featureless, largely unusable and unsafe for young children. It was transformed into a series of levelled areas consisting of a upper terrace/deck, two lawns, and a lower terrace. Turf steps with stone edges and risers link the lawns, and a flight of stone steps blend into the lower retaining wall, giving access to the lower terrace. The clients requested a wildlife-friendly planting scheme - this slow-worm pictured sun-bathing on the lower terrace just a few months after completion proves that shy and retiring wildlife can be tempted to share our gardens, even in busy towns, with only a small amount of effort on our part ...
